Pokémon Trainer Karate Camp
We're teaming up with pop culture to provide a Fall Break camp full of fun, learning, and exercise.
A Note for Parents
Shhhh.... This is a secret...
Lion's Pride Martial Arts, LLC is owned and operated by, guess what, PARENTS.
This Fall Break, we want our kids to enjoy their rest from the rigor and discipline of school- after all, they are kids! But that does not mean we want them to spend endless hours in front of the TV, or punching buttons on their gaming device! That's why we designed the Pokémon Trainer Karate Camp - to engage kids in constructive learning and physical activity while letting them enjoy one of the most popular pastimes of today's younger generation.
Each day, your child will have 2-3 physically active classes where they are learning martial arts and self-defense. Plus, they will work on hand stands, cartwheels, and other acrobatic tricking.
We will offer specialty workshops each day so kids can choose how to spend their time constructively. A workshop about Pokémon strategy is really a lesson in logic, deductive reasoning, math, and planning. A workshop about Pokémon characters may be a lesson in geography, biology, or ecology!
The purpose of the Pokémon theme is to engage the kids in a fun way to make them want to learn more and to do their best. They can make a picture frame in any camp. In our camp, we make a display case for a foil-embossed card of their favorite Pokémon!
Please do not be fooled by the theme. The kids are supposed to be fooled by the theme, but not the parents. The theme is a tool to get the most out of the kids. Will there be an occasional Pokémon episode on the TV? Sure. Will kids have time to run around and act like kids? Absolutely. Our promise is that a good portion of the day will be spent in directed physical activity and constructive play. Our goal is to return your kids to you each evening, happy, healthy, and slightly smarter than when they were dropped off.
